I am innocent.

The newspaper referred to me as thirty-eight-year-old Cicero Clay, glider flight instructor and paroled convict.

I didn’t do it. Yes I can prove it.

And no, you don’t want to call me by my first name.

I am Clay.

So begins Lee Baldwin’s Angle of Attack, an adventure of sport flying, aviation history, and beautiful women.

After two attempts on his life within hours, Clay must unearth the
motivations of shadowy characters — a jailed gangsta boss and a former girlfriend who becomes his parole officer.

Clay learns the hard way that a glider can become a murder weapon,
and how to save it before he hits the ground.

Suspected of murder himself, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues.
Clay must escape by flying a stolen aircraft cross country at night.

A love Clay never suspected becomes the ally who joins in attacking
his enemy with a mortal blow.

Set in familiar California locales, Angle of Attack takes the reader to a new world of adventure flying and dangerous women.

Background and Events

My press release on PRWeb of Jan 6 has traveled to many corners of the web! Blogs and tweets are everywhere. The editor of “That’s Books” quoted my release and at the bottom said this:

(EDITOR: I am reading this book, now. Get a copy. Seriously. Get it from Amazon, this minute!) You can use the That’s Books Amazon Shop, if you like, just get it!)

Very nice review of Angle of Attack on Kathryn’s Report, mirrored on Amazon as a 5-star (woo hoo) review.

The Antwerp diamond robbery in 2003 figures in Angle of Attack. Here’s a report on the untold story of that unsolved diamond robbery.

News is, J.J. Abrams jumped on the story from Wired and has engaged the screen writer from Field of Dreams to create a film script.

Here are two of the comments my announcement post picked up:

Hi, Lee. Wow. What a read! Had me glued to my Kindle reader!

I have featured your novel on my book review site That’s Books. The url is http://thatsbooks.blogspot.com/2012/01/angle-of-attack-author-lee-baldwin.html

I was interested in the location of the story, Santa Clara. Last September at the age of 54 I took the first flight in my life which was quite an adventure in itself, being from the UK to San Francisco. My final destination, where I spent just under a week? Santa Clara, with a trip to the Googleplex at Mountain View, for a conference at Google!

Quite a coincidence!

Hi, I’m the editor or SoaringNZ, the official magazine of Gliding NZ. Congrates on writing a novel with gliding in it. I’m planning one, but I’ve got another one to finish first. :-) – yeah. I know. Watch this space but don’t hold your breath.

Seriously, I’d love to read it and possibly review in my magazine.
Nice to know of another aviation writer.

Regards
Jill McCaw
